Cruise of the Heart (www.cruiseoftheheart.com)
This is a detailed description of a seventeen-day cruise from Rome to Galveston, Texas. It's more than just a travelogue, however. It's a memoir filled with reflections and poignant moments, an exposition on a variety of interesting topics, and a love story. It has a huge bibliography and resource section.

Aging as a Spiritual Journey
Aging is not a horrible disease to be avoided at all costs, despite its bad reputation in our youth-oriented society. It can be the highlight and grand culmination of a life well lived. Certainly life is a journey, but what are its spiritual aspects? Why would we want to give this our attention? Linda and I offer a workshop on this subject, available in a number of different formats (half day, full day, weekend, etc.). Now in my 70s, the topic has relevance to me personally.
A poem by Wendell Berry:
No, no, there is no going back.
Less and less you are
that possibility you were.
More and more you have become
those lives and deaths
that have belonged to you.
You have become a sort of grave
containing much that was
and is no more in time, beloved
then, now, and always.
And so you have become a sort of tree
standing over a grave.
Now more than ever you can be
generous toward each day
that comes, young, to disappear
forever, and yet remain
unaging in the mind.
Every day you have less reason
not to give yourself away.
~ Wendell Berry ~
Proton Beam Therapy
Protons are a particle from the nucleus of an atom. A new and superior technology uses protons to treat numerous forms of cancer. In September and October of 2016 Robert received proton therapy treatment for intermediate prostate cancer, which is not invasive and is painless. So impressed was he that he has taken a new interest in promoting proton therapy. Accordingly, he has the book shown to the right, and also these three new websites:
