SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION My income largely depends on business from others who buy my products or hire my services. Here are some of the possibilities. As you can see, most of the links are to my business website. Chartres Cathedral is one of my favorite places on this planet. Although I have retired as director of One Heart Tours, I am available to established groups to come to Chartres and lecture and/or conduct guided tours. My fee is $1,000 per day plus expenses. In the past, I have had this exact same arrangement with John James, the expert on Gothic Cathedrals. We have hired him to come to be a presenter for some of our groups in Chartres. I think I have heard that Malcolm Miller, the English guide at Chartres Cathedral, charges private groups $500 for one tour. So my fee is actually very reasonable. Labyrinth trainings. I conduct two types of training with regards to labyrinths. One is a labyrinth-building master class, in which I show people how to make labyrinths. The other is a facilitator training, in which I teach people how to use labyrinths (see training). I tried sponsoring my own events, such as a master class at our studio (see seminar), but it is too much work. So now I wait until someone else sponsors me. My last studio event is a master class April 18-20, 2008. The cost is $250. My fee for giving a training is $1,000 per day plus expenses. If you sponsor a training and charge $200, for example, and 30 people come, then from your income of $6,000 you pay my fee and expenses, something for publicity, and keep the rest. If you were to travel to one of my trainings, including airfare, rental car, lodging, meals, and tuition, you are likely to spend $1,000. So you and a friend could spend the same amount and have me come to give you private instructions. If several others attend, you can come out ahead. Lectures. Mostly, I talk about labyrinths. The lectures can be tailored to specific applications, such as hospitals or schools. I also talk about sacred geometry and Chartres Cathedral. I would especially like to travel and speak to landscape architects, to encourage them to put labyrinths in their designs. Generally I charge $300 plus expenses to do a lecture. If there is a lot of travel (say a day in each direction), there could be an additional time charge. I can bring PowerPoint equipment to enhance the lecture. Books. Besides having edited the great Hermann Kern labyrinth compendium, as well as writing introductions for several labyrinth books, I also have some small books of my own, available on Amazon.com and also through my website. I hope to add at least one book per year to my list. Labyrinth installation. As a full-time labyrinth artist, part of my job is to travel around the United States to install labyrinths. We can do the entire job with our own crew, or I can come alone and instruct your workers or volunteers in how to construct the labyrinth. Generally this costs from $1,000 to $2,000 per day (depending on the situation) plus materials and expenses. My Labyrinth Enterprises, LLC, website is filled with possibilities for labyrinths. Take a look at www.labyrinth-enterprises.com. Referrals are welcomed. Please tell your friends about Labyrinth Enterprises, LLC, and about me, if we can be of any service. Many thanks. |
